New free coronavirus testing sites open in Miami-Dade County

Coronavirus testing site opens at Miami-Dade County Fair & Exposition

Here are some of the places performing drive-thru COVID-19 testing in South Florida:

Amelia Earhart Park

Free drive-thru testing is available to people aged 65 years or older who are experiencing symptoms of COVID-19. Appointments are required. No walk-ins, mopeds, or bicycles are permitted. Only two people are allowed in the car at the testing site — one driver and one passenger. If both have appointments, both will be tested.
Residents are asked to enter the park through the entrance on Palm Avenue at 65th Street. Testing will take place at the rotunda near the entrance. 401 E. 65th St., Hialeah; 305-268-4319. Testing is available Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. by appointment only.

Charles Hadley Park

Free drive-thru testing is available for City of Miami residents aged 18 or older who exhibit symptoms of COVID-19. Appointments are required. 1350 NW 50th St., Miami; 305-960-5050.

City of Miami homebound senior testing

City of Miami Fire Rescue is offering free in-home testing to homebound seniors aged 65 or older. For more information, call 305-960-5050.

Doris Ison Health Center (last day Wednesday, April 8)

Patients must be experiencing symptoms such as fever, cough, or shortness of breath and have either a recent history of travel to an affected country or contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19. 10300 SW 216th St., Cutler Bay; 305-252-4820. Open weekdays from 9 a.m. to noon by appointment only.

Hard Rock Stadium

Patients must be symptomatic and older than age 65. Healthcare workers and first responders are also eligible. Appointments can be made by calling the county hotline at 305-499-8767. 347 Don Shula Dr., Miami Gardens. Open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Larkin Community Hospital Palm Springs Campus

At this time, Larkin is prioritizing testing for first responders and healthcare providers. Testing is available by appointment only. 1475 W. 49th St., Hialeah; 305-830-0790.

Loren Roberts Park

Testing is available for those who have recently traveled to a high-risk country and for those who have been in contact with someone who has COVID-19. Tests will be administered on a first-come, first-served basis; appointments are not necessary. 627 NW Sixth Ave., Florida City. Open Tuesday and Thursday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Marlins Park

Anyone aged 18 or older who is experiencing symptoms can be tested. Only one other person is allowed in the car with the patient; that person will also be tested to check for potential spread. Appointments are required. 501 Marlins Way, Miami; 305-499-8767.

Martin Luther King Jr. Clinica Campesina Health Center (opens Monday, April 13)

Testing is available for those who have recently traveled to a high-risk country and for those who have been in contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19. Tests will be administered on a first-come, first-served basis; appointments are not necessary. 810 W. Mowry Dr., Homestead. Open Monday and Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. beginning April 13.

Miami Beach municipal parking lot

MedRite Urgent Care offers drive-thru testing to people of any age who exhibit symptoms of COVID-19. Prescreening and appointments are required. Testing previously cost $125 but is now free. 4621 Collins Ave., Miami Beach; 305-735-3909. The testing and call center are open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily except Saturday.

Miami-Dade County fairgrounds

Testing is available to anyone aged 18 or older who is experiencing symptoms associated with COVID-19. Three hundred appointments are available each day. The call center opens at 9 a.m. and will schedule appointments for the following day until all of the slots are filled. Southwest 107th Avenue at Southwest 20th Street, Miami; 305-499-8767. Open daily from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. by appointment only.

South Dade Government Center

Drive-thru testing is available daily for anyone aged 18 years or older experiencing symptoms of COVID-19. Appointments are required. The call center is open from 9 a.m. until appointment slots for the next day are filled. Only the driver and one passenger are allowed in the car, and both will be tested. 10710 SW 211th St., Cutler Bay; 305-499-8767.

Cleveland Clinic Florida

A nurse will screen callers by phone to determine whether they're eligible for testing. Patients who meet the criteria will be given an appointment and have their temperature taken when they arrive at the drive-thru location. Patients who don't have a fever will not be tested. Krupa Center, 3250 Meridian Pkwy., Weston; 954-659-5951. Open weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. by appointment only.

Broward Health

Patients must have a written prescription from a physician to be tested and then call Broward Health at 954-320-5730 for an appointment. Address to be disclosed when the caller makes an appointment.

National Guard and Memorial Healthcare System

Patients must be showing symptoms of COVID-19 and fall into one of three categories: healthcare workers and first responders, seniors aged 65 or older, and people who recently traveled abroad. C.B. Smith Park, 900 N. Flamingo Rd., Pembroke Pines. Open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.



New free coronavirus testing sites open in Miami-Dade County

No appointment needed, but certain criteria must be met


While tests are free and no appointment is necessary at CHI testing locations, patients must meet the following criteria to be tested:
  • They have recently traveled to any of the high-risk countries or have been in contact with someone who has COVID-19.
  • Or they are experiencing the following symptoms: fever, cough or shortness of breath.


  1. COVID-19 testing site at Loren Roberts Park in Florida City that will be open Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
  1. CHI will also conduct drive-through tests at its Martin Luther King Jr./Clinica Campesina Health Center at 810 W. Mowry Drive in Homestead. Tests will be available at that location on Mondays and Wednesdays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
  1. CHI Marathon Health Center at 2805 Overseas Highway in Marathon will conduct COVID-19 testing every Saturday from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. by appointment only. Patients going to that location must be a resident of Monroe County and meet testing criteria.


Coronavirus testing site opens at Miami-Dade County Fair & Exposition


A new coronavirus testing site opens Wednesday on the grounds of the Miami-Dade County Fair & Exposition.

Testing is currently available for people 18 and over who are experiencing symptoms associated with COVID-19.

An appointment must be made by calling 305-499-8767.

The call center opens at 9 a.m. and takes appointments for the following day until all 300 slots are filled. The call center then closes until the next day at 9 a.m.

Drivers are asked to enter through Southwest 20th Street and 107th Avenue.
